Mirror never tells a lie but broken mirror many!

The mirror is an interesting thing. The moment the word ‘mirror’ comes to one’s mind, the first thing he would say - the mirror never tells a lie and we all have experienced that the looking mirror shows the real image what you show it and it never tells a lie.  It shows us what we look like – not what we imagine we look like, and not the image of ourselves e necessarily want to have, but what we actually look like.

But the moment I searched for it, the same-titled – Mirror Never Tells A Lie -  is 2011 Indonesian directed by Kamila Andini and co-produced by Garin Nugroho, the film was produced.

Garin Nugroho, the filmmaker of the title- Mirror never tells a lie – too has tried to remind Indonesians of their maritime heritage, which has influenced the country’s culture.

One might have come across people in his life who will say all the right words at all the right times.  But in the end, it’s always their actions, you should judge, not words that matter. Mirror has been compared with the sea in the Indonesian movie. It unites nations. It unites you with yourself and with the person standing beside you.

A mirror is the only object where everybody loves to stand in front of it and then we don’t forget to fall in love with you first.

In fact, the face is the mirror of the mind and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart. If you are cool with you and the exchange starts in the same way as what you see is what you reflect.

It is said that books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person. But the real reader of your face is the mirror, photographer and the painter.

The broken mirror is the support to bring with it bad luck and it persists for seven years. In some ancient cultures when a loved one died under extenuating circumstances – be it murder, a horrible accident or suffering from unrequited love, it was considered prudent to cover all the mirrors in the house. The belief was that the spirit of the dead would be hanging about looking for a body to possess in order to resolve a few issues before moving on. But this is just one of many superstitions involving mirrors.

I recollect that whenever a person was in the frenzy, he used to be asked to go and see the face in the mirror to realize you’re real.  Moreover, one must stand before the before going out to see that you are well dressed.

Frankly speaking, our environment, the world in which we live and work, is a mirror of our attitudes and expectations.  But, at the same time, we should not forget that mirror never tells a lie but the broken mirror will let you know the same in as many as the number  of pieces the mirror is broken.
